One tool. One use case. One thing you can implement this week.

You're Losing Jobs to Contractors Who Just Look More Established

This happens every week to businesses.

A pressure washing company owner quotes a job. His price is fair. His work is solid. He’s been in business for six years. But the customer goes with someone else. A competitor who sent a quote that came with a clean one-pager about their company: how long they’ve been around, what they’re known for, that they’re licensed and insured, and a few lines about why customers choose them.

The pressure washing guy sent a number.
His competitor sent a number and a reason to trust them.

That’s the difference.

💡 The Big Idea

You need to give customers a reason to trust you.

When a homeowner or business compares two contractors, they’re not just comparing price. They’re trying to answer one question:

Who is the safer bet?

Most small business owners never answer that question for the customer. They assume the quote speaks for itself. It doesn’t.

A one-page credibility document, often called a “Why Us” doc, is one of the simplest sales tools most small businesses never create.

It’s not a brochure.
It’s not a sales pitch.

It’s a short, confident statement that tells customers who you are, what you’re known for, and why working with you is low-risk.

What Goes on a “Why Us” Doc?

• Years in business
• What you're known for
• License & insurance status
• Services offered
• Service area
• Reviews or proof points
• Contact info

One page. Clean. Skimmable. Professional.

It takes about 15 minutes to build with ChatGPT.
And once it’s done, you attach it to every quote you send.

⚡ This Week’s Win

Build you one-page “Why Us” doc in 15 minutes.

What you need: your phone, 5 minutes, one real inquiry

Step 1: Go to chat.openai.com (free) or open the ChatGPT app

Step 2: Copy this prompt:

Write a confident one-page credibility document for [your business name].

Here are the details:
• Years in business: [X]
• What we’re known for: [2–3 strengths — e.g., “fast turnaround, clean jobsites, reliable scheduling”]
• Services we offer: [main services]
• Licensed and insured: Yes
• Service area: [city/region]
• Awards, reviews, or recognitions: [optional — e.g., “500+ five-star Google reviews”]

Write in a confident, professional tone.
Under 200 words.
Not boastful — clear and trustworthy.
Format it so it can be attached to a quote or proposal.

Step 3. Paste the prompt into ChatGPT and fill out the information in the brackets. Keep it simple.
Step 4. Fix anything that doesn’t sound like you. Add one or two details if needed.

Step 5. Copy it into Google Docs or Word. Export it as a PDF.

Step 6. Attach it to every quote. That’s it. Attach it to every quote you send going forward. The “Why Us” doc goes with it.

Sales research across trade businesses shows contractors with a credibility doc close 15–25% more proposals.

The reason is simple: you’ve removed doubt.
The customer doesn’t have to wonder if you’re legitimate. You’ve already told them. And you walk into every job conversation with credibility already established.

Most of your competitors aren’t doing this.
Which means a one-page document can make you look more established than companies twice your size.

🕒 Try This in the Next 10 Minutes

Before you close this email, open ChatGPT, paste the prompt above, and fill in your details. You’ll have a first draft in under two minutes. Clean it up, save it as a PDF, and you’re done.

Your next proposal will instantly look more established than competitors who only send a number.
